Question by Sarah M: Why is my dishwasher not doing a very good job?
Why does my dishwasher not wash very well and everything comes out really wet? Any at home remedies?
Give your answer to this question below!
Perhaps it’s not draining properly. Check the bottom of the tub inside for debris clogging the perforated drain pan. Also, verify that the air gap isn’t clogged. The air gap is that little 3-inch tall, inch or so in diameter doohickey on your kitchen sink or counter top that makes a gurgling sound when the dishwasher drains. This has a crooked discharge pipe and nozzle inside it where the discharge water is shot down a drain pipe after the water travels a couple inches in the air. This prevents a clog in your drain lines from backing up into and contaminating your dishwasher.
The water should flow very strongly when the dishwasher drains until it’s completely empty. If not, the nozzle at the end of the pipe could be clogged with old dishwashing detergent, food bits, etc. If it is clogged, you can unclog it with the end of a wire clothes hanger or small screwdriver. Then run the dishwasher to blow the rest of the debris out of the nozzle.

IT’S not set on heat mode or the heater’s broke!
set your hot water tank thermostat 135 degrees water not hot enough. 65
Ok do you have a make and model number. Sounds like the water is not hot enough. Run the kitchen sink hot water and get it good and hot before you start the dishwasher. Also check the heat setting on the dry selection. Air dry is no heat and that leaves the dish wet. If it is not on air dry, with a model I can provide more info. Could be heater of thermostat for the heater and it could also be the timer.
